A Chinoiserie-Inspired Christmas Family Room

A Chinoiserie-Inspired Christmas Family Room

Welcome to my first Christmas room tour post of 2025! My theme this year was chinoiserie inspired, lots of vines, florals, birds tucked here and there. My mom came and helped me decorate again this year, which is always a favorite tradition! Together, we decorated 4 trees, 3 mantels and 7 rooms! I have lots to share with you!

This Christmas season, I wanted our family room to feel elegant, timeless, and filled with that special holiday sparkle — all while staying true to my love of Chinoiserie style. With soft greens, glimmers of gold, and layers of blue and white, the space feels serene yet festive, sophisticated yet inviting. Every corner tells a story — from the frosted florals to the tree that glows with timeless beauty.

Frosted Christmas Floral Arrangement

One of my favorite pieces designed for this room was this frosted Christmas floral arrangement. The soft, snowy, glittery texture instantly sets a magical tone. Frosted magnolias, beaded magnolias, creamy frosted hydrangeas, winter berries and frosted greenery create a luxurious blend of wintry whites and subtle shimmer. It’s an arrangement that feels both elegant and peaceful — like the quiet beauty of freshly fallen snow.

Chinoiserie-Inspired Mantel Garland

The mantel is always one of my favorite focal points, and this year’s garland is a true showpiece. I started with a simple flocked pine garland hung with these hooks. Then I started adding sparkly magnolia leaves  glittered beaded magnolia leaves and sage green metallic bay leaves cascading across the mantel. Just tuck them into the flocked garland.

Next I tucked in beaded magnolia, velvet dogwoods and glittered hydrangeas and golden pomegranates ( I used 6-8 of each stem). A few white doves complete the look. The Chinoiserie influence shines through in the classic details — perfectly complementing the ginger jars nestled on top of the mantel. It’s a timeless mix of texture, tradition, and holiday charm.

Christmas stocking holder

Since our garland is very full, there isn’t any room for our stockings to hang by the fire. I found this stocking holder you can use anywhere! It has 8 hooks and is so fabulous! Our stockings are monogrammed and come with an insert to help them hold their shape.

Coffee Table Christmas Decor

On the coffee table (ottoman), I styled a collection of pieces that bring elegance and a touch of whimsy to the room. A shimmering star, my signature mother of pearl ginger jar tied with a velvet bow and sacred heart, marble candlesticks, and a marble box layer beautifully together in a lucite tray. The mix of materials — glossy, natural, and metallic — creates a refined yet relaxed vignette that ties the entire room together.

Chinoiserie Inspired Christmas Tree

The heart of the family room is our Chinoiserie-inspired Christmas tree — a dazzling blend of texture, pattern, and shine. Each stem and ornament was carefully chosen to capture that layered, collected look I love. I used 12 of each stem and 8-10 of each ornament on our 10ft flocked tree. This tree is stunning without any ornaments! It’s so simple to set up and has a remote control to turn on its sparkling lights.

You’ll find:

The end result is a tree blending holiday glamour with timeless Chinoiserie style!

Under the tree showcases gifts wrapped in left over wall paper scraps from various rooms in our home, tied in a gorgeous collection of ribbon. White and gold boxes  and white nesting boxes complete the look also tied with gorgeous ribbon. Let me let you in on a little secret, all of the boxes are empty! I slide the ribbons off and add the gifts a few days before Christmas. The wrapped ones,  I will use year after year.

Pretty Room Details

Pretty little details are sprinkled around the room to make the space feel truly special. On a side table, a delicate Lladro of Mary and baby Jesus adds a spiritual and sentimental touch. On the windows, sage and gold bay leaf wreaths tied with cream satin bows bring a soft, classic nod to the season. These thoughtful details make the space feel personal, meaningful, and beautifully refined.

Show-Stopping Throw Pillows

No room feels complete without a beautiful mix of pillows — and this season’s combination might be my favorite yet. I was able to create my own curated throw pillow collection featured on Cailini Coastal! I layered Palmetto Sky Pillow, (sky blue), Prague Pillow (green) and Rosewood Pillow (garden floral) pillows to create that signature collected look I love! Each pillow is 22″ and comes with the insert. To finish it off, Marais metallic trim tape lumbars add just the right amount of sparkle. Together, they bring richness and depth to the room.

Magical Accessories

To complete the look, I sprinkled in a few whimsical touches that make the space truly shine during the holidays. A charming Christmas cottage sits beside glimmering bottle brush trees, creating a sweet holiday vignette. A quatrefoil cachepot filled with ornaments and ribbon adds texture and color, while softly glowing candles and another bay leaf wreath tied with satin ribbon make the room feel extra cozy and magical — especially in the evenings.

A Collected Holiday Look

This Chinoiserie-inspired family room captures everything I love about the season — beauty, warmth, and timeless elegance. The mix of patterns, textures, and meaningful accents makes it a place where our family gathers, celebrates, and soaks in the magic of Christmas. Each detail, big or small, comes together to create a space that feels festive, refined, and full of heart.
