The Whimsical Touch of Cloud Wallpaper
The heart of this guest room is the gorgeous cloud wallpaper (click here to see all the wallpaper in our home) that covers the walls, evoking a sense of lightness and tranquility. With its soft, dreamy design, the clouds seem to float effortlessly, creating a calming atmosphere that’s perfect for winding down. The delicate bluish gray and white tones bring a sense of airy freshness, giving the room an ethereal quality that invites relaxation. Whether it’s day or night, the wallpaper captures the changing light beautifully, offering a different ambiance at every moment. You may have noticed the cloud theme we have going on at The Wren. I have always loved clouds. They are so beautiful and calming to me. I think they remind me of where I came from and where I am going.
Picture Frame Molding: A Timeless Detail
To complement the cloud wallpaper and add a layer of sophistication, we’ve incorporated picture frame molding along the lower walls. This classic architectural detail enhances the elegance of the space while adding depth and texture. It’s a simple yet impactful addition that elevates the entire design. We painted the molding Benjamin Moore’s Mountain Mist in semi gloss. It’s a lovely light blue that compliments the wallpaper beautifully.
Velvet Upholstered Bed: Luxurious Comfort
No guest room is complete without a cozy bed that invites a peaceful night’s sleep. This room features a sumptuous velvet upholstered bed in a soft, warm white that exudes comfort and opulence. We have had this bed for years and still love it! The quality is amazing and the price point is so reasonable. We love it so much, we bought the same one for our lake house.
Above the bed hangs the most gorgeous selenite sunburst mirror. It’s like the sunshine popping through the clouds! I love this mirror so much it hangs in two places in our home!
At the foot of the bed, a playful antelope print bench sits to add functionality and charm to the room.
Under the bed you’ll find the most gorgeous Oushak rug! It is so reasonably prices for a hand knotted rug.
Mirrored Nightstands: Reflecting Elegance
On either side of the bed, you’ll find mirrored nightstands (similar, more options below) that add a touch of glamour and elegance to the space. The reflective surfaces catch the light in the room, creating a sense of openness and brightness. With their clean lines and understated design, the nightstands offer the perfect balance of functionality and style, providing storage and a spot for the crystal lamps without overwhelming the space.
Crystal Lamps + Chandelier : Sparkling Touches
To complete the look, crystal lamps sit atop the mirrored nightstands, casting a warm, inviting glow throughout the room. The delicate crystals catch the light in the most enchanting way, adding a touch of glamour and sophistication. Their refined design elevates the space, while the soft lighting they provide creates the perfect atmosphere for reading or relaxing before bed.
Above the bed hangs a simple, yet elegant crystal chandelier to add more sparkle and light to the room.

Scalloped Embroidered + Chinoiserie Pillows: A Nod to Timeless Tradition
To introduce a touch of color and pattern, we’ve added whimsical chinoiserie pillows. The intricate patterns bring a sense of sophistication and timeless charm to the bed, adding an element of contrast to the softness of the velvet and the ethereal clouds on the walls. These pillows create a perfect blend of traditional and modern styles. I love them paired with these scalloped embroidered euro shams. They are so charming!
Linen Gingham-Checked Sheets: Casual Elegance
For the bedding, we used blue linen gingham-checked sheets that offer a relaxed yet stylish vibe. The crisp lines of the check pattern contrast beautifully with the softness of the velvet bed, bringing in a sense of casual elegance. The linen fabric adds a touch of natural texture, while its breathable qualities ensure a cozy and comfortable sleep for every guest. Paired with white quilts, these sheets create a serene and welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for a peaceful retreat.
White Quilts: Layered Comfort
The finishing touch on the bed is the addition of two white quilts, adding a sense of lightness and luxury. The quilt’s crisp white hue complements the soft tones of the pillows, sheets, and cloud wallpaper, while the quilted texture provides an extra layer of warmth and comfort. It’s simple, timeless, and the perfect way to ensure that guests feel pampered and cozy during their stay. The base quilt is a lovely cotton quilt and the one at the base is a luxurious silky quilt.
Bedding Sources
Mirrored Dresser: Added Luxury
We also added a mirrored dresser (similar) to give the room an even larger, more luxurious feeling. Mirrored furniture gives the illusion of extra space and give a touch of elegance to any space. A large mirror framed mirror (similar here) continues to expand the space while adding interest. Three gold wreaths on stands add a little personality without overshadowing the clouds. An alabaster lamp completes the look.
Final Thoughts
We will still be adding a few more details to this space. I’d love to find the perfect chair or chairs ( I borrowed one from another room when I took the photos) to flank the dresser and may add some art to the wall. Right now, I am loving the clouds being the statement of the room and don’t want to detract from that.
