Simple Summer Styling in Our Family Room

A Light & Welcoming Foundation
Every season brings a chance to refresh your home, but summer has always been my favorite. I love creating spaces that feel light, welcoming, and collected without completely redecorating. A few thoughtful updates—fresh florals, lighter textures, and a soft color palette—are often all it takes to give a room a fresh perspective.

Bring the Outdoors In
One of the easiest ways to welcome summer is with florals and greenery. Oversized ginger jars filled with airy greenery and soft white blooms instantly bring life into the room and help blur the line between indoors and out. Positioned near the windows, they draw your eye to the beautiful natural light and create that effortless, collected feel.

Our Neutral colored furnishings are layered with pillows in soft aqua, blue, and green patterns from my collection with Cailini Coastal. Mixing florals, stripes, geometric prints, and embroidered details adds interest while keeping the palette calm and cohesive. Lightweight throws draped over the sofa and daybed add just enough texture without feeling heavy for the season. I also have a large basket filled with my favorite all weather blankets that are so charming.
You may notice a new addition to our family room! I recently had our french style armchairs, flanking the fireplace, reupholstered with a beautiful tonal stripe performance fabric. They add so much charm to the room! What a difference a simple change can bring to your space!

On the coffee table, I love styling with just a few meaningful pieces. Blue and white ginger jars, woven trays, candles, and a touch of coral create a layered look that’s beautiful but still practical for everyday living. Summer decorating doesn’t have to be complicated—sometimes editing back is the best styling tip of all.
