The Fourth of July has always been my favorite holiday, next to Christmas. Since I was born in July, I feel an extra connection to this special day. So I love throwing a special party to celebrate our county to show my love for this amazing land. You can make your fourth of July extra fabulous for your family and friends by decorating your home with some simple decor and setting a delicious ice cream sundae bar.
I’ll be sharing how you can throw a fantastic Fourth of July party without having to spend a ton of money or time.
Today I’ve also joined some ladies to bring you lots of summer entertaining ideas hosted by Lory of Designthusiasm. Welcome to my blog if you are new here! If you have come over from the lovely Janet of Shabby Fufu, thank you for stopping by. I love sharing tips for living life in style.
Step inside our patriotic kitchen where I’ll share my simple tips for getting your home ready to celebrate the fourth!
Easy Decor Ideas…
Fill blue and white ginger jars with red roses for a simple, patriotic arrangement.
Use flags on wooden sticks to create filler for more blue and white ginger jars. Group some together for an easy and impressive vignette on your countertop or island.
You can also use white ginger jars instead of blue and white ones like I did on my kitchen table.
Ice Cream Sundae Bar
Ice cream sundaes and summer just belong together. The beautiful thing about setting a sundae bar, is you can make it as simple or as fancy as you would like. You guys know I tend to lean towards things on the fancy side. But fancy can be simple. Oh so simple. Here is how I set up an easy ice cream sundae bar topped with fresh cherries.
- Lay a festive table runner on your serving area. You can find mine here.
- Use fresh fruit for toppings served in white compote dishes. I used cherries, blueberries and strawberries.
- Serve homemade or store bought hot fudge. Pour into a mason jar {even if it is store bought, to give it a charming look}.
- Use red and blue bandannas as napkins.
- Have different sized bowls for adults and children. This will allow you to help control portion size. I like using glass bowls, but if you would rather use disposable, use something that will look classy in your buffet line.

Randi, this is such a beautiful and festive way to celebrate the 4th, or any festive occasion! The perfect ending to a summer BBQ. I will be sure to feature an ice cream sundae bar at least one time when entertaining this summer!

So patriotic-I love it! Your kitchen is absolutely stunning.
Happy Birthday to you in July!
The flag garland is sold at Walmart too, but it’s not vintage like your awesome source. I love this vintage one you’ve sourced.
Randi, I love the bandanna napkins! How creative! Will definitely have to remember for next year!
