For the past four years, I have slowly be transforming our house from dark to light! My style has shifted from French Traditional to Transitional with a touch of French Glam. With the rest of our house lightened and brightened, I’ve turned my sights towards the last room in the house needing some light – my office! My goal is to take it from feeling so French to a Glam Transitional Home Office. I love mixing clean modern pieces with just a few French pieces to soften the room.
Before my office felt dark with heavy French furniture. I had my French Armoire (a Craig’s List find) and the French dresser (also Craig’s List) painted white. The difference it made was HUGE!!! Wait until you see the after!

BEFORE
Instead of sharing just the reveal, I thought I would take you along the decorating journey with me this time. When I design a room, I like to start by creating a mood board. This helps get a feel for the room and how the pieces will look together.
I’ve shared a few sneak peeks on Instagram. You can follow me there for more peeks and details. Here’s a little sneak peek of the room…
Here is the mood board and a link to all the sources I will be using for the room. Also, I included a look for less. These are all similar pieces for less. I hope this helps!
Selenite Sunburst Mirror | Chandelier | Similar Chandelier | Alabaster Lamp | White and Gold Mirror | French Desk Chair | Gold Stacking Boxes | White and Gold Desk | French Style Armoire | Glam Sideboard
All of the pieces for the room have been ordered except the rug. I can’t decide if I want to replace it or not. I think I will have a better idea when the drapes are installed and the furniture is all in place. Look for the reveal sometime towards the end of July.
I’ll do try to do an update before then too!
I love the changeover. Such a big difference.
looks gorgeous. Thanks for sharing
