Welcome to a Kate Spade inspired brunch {featuring a Belgium waffle bar}, inspired by the fabulous fashion designer, Kate Spade. Her designs are classy and timeless, perfect for party inspiration. I’ll be sharing all of the table details, plus the menu and recipes.
Two of my closest friends had birthdays this month. Hosting a special brunch for them is my way of showing them how much they mean to me.
My hope is that you will take ideas from this and in turn go and brighten someone else’s day by doing something special for them. Our world has enough pain and suffering in it, if we each try to lighten someone’s load, our world would instead be flooded with happiness.
The things I share with you are the result of someone taking the time to teach or inspire me. I hope you are inspired in some way to go and do the same.
Pretend you are my guest for brunch.
The table was dressed in a white tablecloth, topped with some black and white fabric.
Hot pink napkins, folded using the method shown below, give a nod to Kate’s iconic style and add a touch of class and color pop to the table.
I used a small, clear rubber band to secure the bow into place.
The flowers are the star of this table. A silver ice bucket I had from Home Goods gives the table a little sparkle and serves as a great vase. Use items you already have around your house. This gives your table personality and creativity.
Nothing was purchased for this table, except the flowers. Everything used for this party were things I already had in my cupboards {I will be doing a post later this month about building your own stock of staple hosting supplies}.
This arrangement consists of three bunches of flowers from my local grocery store. Find out from your local store when they mark their flowers down. You can score flowers at 50% off lots of times.
For this centerpiece, I used a bouquet of hot pink roses, a bouquet of yellow roses, and a mixed bouquet of green hydrangeas with some filler flowers. When making an arrangement like this, start filling the vessel with the larger flowers first. Then start adding the roses. The larger flowers create a base for the thinner rose stems to stand up against.
My amazing blogger friend Kelley Nan, just posted a very simple tutorial on creating arrangements like this.
Place settings were kept simple, using my staple pieces. Here are the sources so you can recreate this same setting….
1 Black and White Striped Fabric
6 Gold Flatware {wait for these to go on sale, they always do}
This crown stemware is perfect for making the birthday girls feel like royalty on their special day.
Glasses are filled with orange juice and strawberries, and the water glasses are topped off with beautiful, plump raspberries. Little touches. It’s all about the little touches.
Since this is a brunch, dessert is not really fitting, but since every party isn’t a party without little something sweet, I sent my guests home with a treat for later. Lindt truffles are tucked inside this tiny gable box, finessed with a sassy hot pink bow.
Most of my parties are served buffet style. This allows you to use the entire center of the table for decor and it keeps the table clean for a more pleasant eating experience.
These belgium waffles are the real deal! I got this recipe from my mom, and it is a keeper! You can make it ahead of time and pop it in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to use it just let it sit out for a few minutes then give it a quick stir.
These mini pitchers set at each place setting, are perfect for the syrup. I have also used them for salad dressing.
Since syrup likes to move around on the plate, these gold foiled mugs were used for the fruit to keep it syrup free.
The island was covered in a roll of wrapping paper to tie into the theme from the dining room. This is one of my favorite entertaining tricks. No worries about spills or washing, just toss when the party is over.
This brunch was so easy and fun. I hope you are inspired to create something special for someone you love!

Randi
