Summer in the Kitchen: Fresh, Simple & Timeless

Summer is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for because it doesn’t require a lot of changes. A few beautiful layers, beautiful florals, and meaningful accessories can make a space feel bright, welcoming, and ready for gathering. Here’s how I styled our kitchen for summer this year.

The Kitchen Island

The island is the heart of our kitchen, so I love making it the focal point of the room. For summer, I kept things simple with a large blue and white ginger jar filled with airy blue blossoms and greenery. The loose, organic arrangement brings softness and movement while adding a touch of color that feels perfect for the season. I used 6 stems in my ginger jar to create the look.

I layered in a few favorite ginger jars, candles, and a stack of blue and white plates for a collected look that feels elegant but effortless. The combination of crisp whites, warm brass, and soft blues creates a fresh summer palette that I never tire of.

Sink Styling

The area around the sink is one of my favorite spots to add a few pretty and practical touches. A hydrangea hand towel brings in a soft seasonal pattern, while L’AVANT hand  (bottle) and dish soaps add both beauty and function with their elegant packaging. I finished the space with a Voluspa California Dream candle for a fresh, summery scent that makes everyday kitchen tasks feel a little more special.

Candles are one of my favorite finishing touches in a kitchen. For summer, I love fresh, summery scents like Voluspa California Dreams and Gardenia TuberRose. They add a beautiful glow, make the space feel inviting, and bring a little touch of summer to everyday moments.

The Countertops

When styling countertops, I like to strike a balance between beauty and function. Rather than filling every surface, I selected a few pieces that add charm without creating clutter.

Blue and white cachepots filled with preserved boxwood topiaries, decorative canisters, and everyday kitchen essentials help the space feel lived in while still looking polished. The brass accents throughout the kitchen add warmth and tie everything together beautifully.

One of my favorite details in this kitchen is the collection of blue and white plates displayed on the brass rail shelves. Decorative plates are such an easy way to add personality and color to a space while keeping it timeless.

I love how these pieces introduce subtle pattern and texture while reinforcing the blue and white palette that carries throughout the room. They feel collected, meaningful, and add so much character to the walls.

Just beyond the kitchen, the breakfast table continues the summer story. A simple floral arrangement, soft blue accents, and plenty of natural light create a space that feels inviting for everything from morning coffee to family dinners.
