5 Stylish ways to Make your Bathroom Feel Custom

You don’t have to remodel your house to give it an updated, custom look! We recently remodeled our kitchen and bathroom which got me thinking about how we “live” with what we have, until we have the means to make a change. Well, you don’t have to just “live” with your boring bathroom! There are simple things you can do to your bathroom that can make it feel like a custom home without having to redo the whole thing!

If you missed the bathroom reveal, you can see it here and our kitchen here.

Today I’m sharing 5 stylish tips that you can use in your bathroom to give it a custom feel.

1st

Add luxury to your bathroom with towels and rugs.

There is a general rule I like to stick to when choosing linens for a bathroom. Choose two sets of high quality towels. You get what you pay for when it comes to towels. By selecting ones that are a little more expensive, they will last you longer, saving you money in the long run.

Try selecting one set of crisp white towels and one set of patterned ones.

White towels scream fresh. clean and luxurious. For our bathroom, I chose a set of white towels with a gray monogram for each of our children. The hand and face towels have my husband and my initials on them. Monograms are a great way to add some charm to your room. Our towels are from one of my favorite shops to buy quality linens, Bella Lino Linens. My set is the Heirloom set.

A second set of patterned towels is nice to have on hand for a couple of reasons. One, having two sets keeps your towels from having too much wear and tear. Two, not all guests or relatives are neat and clean. Having a patterned option for those special individuals helps keep your towels looking fresh and new! Lastly, they add some fun to a space! Since our bathroom has a neutral color scheme, I mixed gray textured towels and cream sculpted towels to match the floors and marble. The result is this beautiful, soft color scheme. The quality of these towels is amazing!

Silver robe hooks with crystal knobs, add more glam to the back of the door. Little details like this give your home a custom look.

This cream bath mat is adds a touch of class to the floor without taking away from the gorgeous tile. It is soft and fluffy making the floor feel more luxurious.

2nd

Change your Hardware to something fun and trendy.

Swapping out your hardware and door knobs make such a big impact! If you hate your cabinets and can’t change them, try switching your hardware. You might just fall back in love with your room! In a few years you can switch them again. I’ve linked some of my favorite below…

3rd

Use stylish accessories to dress up your space.

Use pretty jars to hold bathroom essentials.

4th

Ditch your builder grade mirror for something with some character!

Find a mirror you love and have a handyman remove your old mirror. Patch, paint and hang your new custom mirror. This change alone, will give your bathroom a unique look that custom bathrooms have.

5th

Fill stylish acrylic containers with shampoo, conditioner and soap.

This is probably my favorite way to add some style to your bathroom! That hodge lodge line up of shampoo bottles makes your shower look junky. Empty your bottles into pretty containers that make your room feel clean and classy. They even make beautiful soap holders so your soap doesn’t go flying off the shelf!

  1. Thanks for these great tips! They are just in time for our new house. We have a place st the beach which I stocked with lots of white towels but the face cloths were quickly getting stained. So I copied an idea from a lodge we stayed at and bought several navy blue washcloths and had ‘makeup’ monogrammed on them. After having so many white ones ruined, this was a ‘must’! Now there is no doubt which cloth is for makeup removal! Now to get my new towels monogrammed! Thank you!
