Spring is such a fun time to entertain! After a long winter that seems to keep everyone inside, in a hibernating state, spring is a welcomed time to start reconnecting through entertaining. Today and the rest of this week, I’m joining some friends to bring you lots of spring entertaining ideas to help you celebrate this spring. This tour is hosted by my talented friend Lory of Designthusiasm. If you’re here from my sweet friend Annie of Zevy Joy, welcome! Annie has the most charming style and wonderful entertaining ideas.
One of the best parts of spring entertaining is how effortlessly you can bring spring to your table! You can create beautiful spring gatherings this year with these easy ideas I’m sharing today!
You don’t have to make an extravagant arrangement to create a wow factor on your spring tables or home! Just grab some fresh flowers from the store and put them in a fun vase for a simple, stunning spring centerpiece or arrangement for an entry or side table.
Try using tulips in varying shades of pink for your arrangement. You can find them at Trader Joe’s or your local grocery store. Use 3 bunches to recreate my arrangement – 1 bunch of hot pink, 1 bunch of light pink and 1 bunch of white with pink tips. I also added a little greenery to soften the flowers.
Keeping your plates all white will help keep your table feeling airy and won’t take away from your gorgeous spring flowers. My favorite plates from Arte Italica create interest through their beautiful texture while letting the flowers still be the star of the table.
It is always a nice touch to send your guests home with a little gift. Mini bouquets are a trend this season, why not make each guest feel special by creating a mini bouquet for each of them to take home!
What you will need to make mini bouquets
- Patterned tissue paper cut into fourths – I used gold polka dot paper found here.
- 5-7 Flowers to match your centerpiece. My mini bouquets include pink roses and pink tulips from the large arrangement.
- Scissors – these are my favorite ones here.
- Ribbon to tie together. I love to use this romantic seam binding as ribbon. It comes in tons of different colors.
1st
Trim your flowers to about 6 inches in length
2nd
Gather the flowers and place them on top of a square of your tissue paper. Make such that the square is turned like a diamond with the corner at the top of your flowers
3rd
Repeat 3 more times, each time turning the bouquet quarter turn so you have 4 corners at the top of your bouquet.
4th
Tie together with ribbon!
If you are a guest at a party this spring instead of the hostess, bring one of these mini bouquets as a hostess gift! They make the most beautiful gift for someone special.
Later this week I’ll be sharing more ways to use these arrangements in your home this spring.
If you are worried about the flowers not staying fresh for your guests, you can display them in a glass on their plates and wrap them up for them before they head home.
I hope you will try some of these ideas this spring when you entertain!
