Glam Main Bedroom Closet Reveal

Hello everyone! Thank you for being here! Today, I am sharing our Glam Main Bedroom Closet Reveal with you! I hope this space gives you some inspiration that you can in turn use to make your closet, your dream closet! It doesn’t matter the size or your closet, you can do a few simple styling tricks to make your’s glam, functional and beautiful!

Designing our main bedroom closet was stressful, I’m not going to lie! Deciding how much hanging space, shelf space and shoe space was tricky! I knew one thing for certain, I wanted closed cabinets with mirrors! Closed cabinets keep your closet looking neat and tidy and help keep the dust off your clothing and accessories. Hours were spent deliberating on the layout and cabinet design. We tweaked and tweaked, until it felt just right. A lot of storage space was taken up by our window, 3 doors and washer and dryer. This closet has almost the exact amount of storage space as in our previous home. It looks a lot larger due to the widows and mirrors!

My goal for this space was for it to feel like you were stepping into a jewel box. We used lots of detailed cabinet trim, beautiful millwork, gorgeous hardware and stunning metallic wallpaper to achieve a glamorous look and feel!

You may wonder where Matt’s shoes and clothes are when you see this reveal! We share the closet, but most of his clothing is stored in our bedroom dresser and bathroom armoire. We had our cabinet maker install several shelves in the bathroom armoire so Matt could organize his shoes behind the closet cabinet rather that in the closet display cabinet.

I will share a follow up post to this reveal post, with lots of closet organizational tips. Today, is mostly about the overall look and design of the closet. I hope you enjoy it and hope you feel inspired to glam up your closet in some small way.

This little vanity area is my favorite spot to sit and do my makeup. We had our cabinet maker design a custom window casing with a beautiful star detail across the top of the window. He did an amazing job bringing my vision to life. Adding trim and millwork to your closet gives it such a custom, glamorous look and feel.

Vanity Details

Vanity – We used the same Bianco Rhino Extra Marble on the vanity top with an ogee edge. Sleek cabinet legs and satin brass knobs complete the look. I used our old dining room head chair as my vanity seat. It’s a gorgeous transitional chair from Caracole.
Tray & Decor – A stunning marble and brass tray hold a few pretty closet essentials mixed with a few decorative objects. If you have a space to place a room diffuser in your closet, do it! Your closet will smell amazing! I love this large crystal diffuser and the luxurious scents they have to choose from. I have the Prosecco scent, it’s unreal!
Decor – A crystal frame with one of my favorite family photos displayed gives the closet a sentimental feeling. Chanel perfume bottles elevate the look along with an elegant crystal.
Florals – Florals always add a special pop to any space. Use your favorite ginger jar and fill it with about 12-16 stems of your favorite faux floral. I used this gorgeous white shell ginger jar (it’s my very favorite white ginger jar – budget option here) and filled with 6 bunches of my favorite faux peonies (budget option here). It makes the closet so cheerful!
Candle – Finally, a dainty marble tray with a yummy smelling candle (my new favorite scent) gives the closet a homey touch.
Window Treatment – We had The Shade Store make us a custom roman shade with Schumacher trim. It is remote controlled so it raises and lowers with a push of a button for privacy.
Wallpaper – The closet walls are covered in Schumacher’s Metal Paperweave Ivory 5010311. “It is a tweedy, tonal paper weave with a sexy twist. It features an unexpected metallic element to add warmth and sophisticated shimmer.” It will take your breath away!
Drawer Organizers – Acrylic and gold organizers help keep my extra makeup and beauty essentials organized and beautiful! I used the square organizers and rectangle organizers and arranged them to fit my drawer. This lipstick organizer fits perfectly into the mix. I love these clear lipstick caps that fit on my Mac lipsticks. They have square cap options here.

Hangers – Here’s a little peek at how I organized my clothes. I will share a more detailed closet organization post with you in the next little while. My biggest tip is to get all the same type of hanger! This will give your closet and instant facelift! Use these acrylic hangers with a gold hanger to give your closet a boutique look! These are absolutely stunning! I love how you can slide your clothes off of them so easily and how gorgeous they look hanging in my closet!

Organizers – A few organizers I used in our closet to organize AND style my accessories were these stackable, acrylic belt organizers (vertical belt organizer), clutch organizers and smaller pouch organizers (stackable). These organizers are a brilliant way to keep your accessories organized and beautifully displayed.

Purse Stand – I am obsessed with these adjustable gold purse stands. They help keep the shape of your hand bags and add a beautiful, styled element to your closet.

Gold Bathroom Accessories – Store your makeup brushes in a pretty vessel and you will smile every time you look at them! I love this gold brush holder. Matching tissue box cover here and gold trash can.

Mini Vacuum – Use this mini vacuum to keep dust bunnies out of your closet! It’s the perfect size to vacuum your drawers, shoe shelves and around your baseboards. It comes in white, pink or mint.

Hardware – Use beautiful hardware to add character to your closet. We used these stunning satin brass knobs and pulls from Armac Martin’s Latchford Collection. They are simply gorgeous.

Paint – Select a paint color that will stand the test of time. Cabinets are the typically the largest part of your room budget. In a room that you plan to keep the same for several years, choose a paint color that is neutral and versatile. We chose Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace. It’s a creamy white paint that looks stunning in any home and pairs lovely with any design style.

Lighting – Your lighting is the jewelry of your space! Don’t skimp here! Find a light with personality and pizzaz! It was a bit of a challenge to find a chandelier for this space that fit between the doors when they open. I had originally selected these gorgeous chandeliers but they were too wide. I ended up using one in my office because I loved it so much! The Jacqueline Chandeliers (budget option here) look breathtaking in the closet. We also used them down our hallways in the main part of the house.

We also had some recessed lighting installed on the ceiling and some strip lighting in my shoe closet.

Rug – A rug is always a nice way to warm up your space. We ordered a custom sized rug from Wayfair. It looks like they don’t offer it anymore, but I was able to find some similar options for you below.

Bench – A fur bench is a fun glam element in the closet. It adds texture and luxury. Here is a link to our exact bench and a similar budget friendly option for you.

Laundry – There were only a few things Matt was adamant about having in our home. A washer and dryer in the closet was one of them! It took a bit of creativity, but we were able to get them in for him! We used the Bosch stackable set. They are smaller in size and are very convenient. A laundry drawer below server as a hamper and storage for laundry soaps.

I wanted the focal point of the closet to be a beautiful shoe cabinet that looked like a piece of furniture. Our cabinet maker really nailed the vision I had. Organizing your shoes by color is visually beautiful and such a simple way to make your shoes look organized and gorgeous! Try mixing in a few of your favorite purses displayed on these gold purse holders to add a fun touch.

Baskets – Baskets are a great way to keep your closet organized. I love these white baskets with liners. Fold your jeans, sweats, sweaters, pjs or anything else you don’t hang up in them. Use these gold basket labels so you know exactly what is in each basket.

Step Stool – A step stool is essential for grabbing those high up items. This lucite brass stool is a splurge, but oh my is she worth it! Here is a less expensive stool option as well.
