Laundry Stripping Recipe

Tired of staring at dingy towels in your bathroom? ME TOO! I set out to find a way to brighten my dingy towels to make them feel like new again!

First, I tried running them in a load with white vinegar, followed by another wash with a cup of baking soda. I didn’t get the results I wanted. So, I tried Laundry Stripping. Laundry Stripping is a simple method to help pull the dingy dirt out of your towels and clothes giving them new life. It is a simple process, but it takes a little time.

I was blown away by the results and wanted to share my Laundry Stripping Recipe with you in case you’re suffering with dingy towels too!

  1. Pinned for reference. All my towels and bedding are white so this will come in handy when they get stained.

  2. Thank you for the informative post. What a noticeable difference! I imagine most of us have had the problem of dingy whites at some time. I have not tried the laundry stripping method, but I did find a laundry detergent that worked well for me- Percil (the original advanced intense) got my towels and sheets noticeably whiter. Would you share what trim was used on your laundry room window treatment? It’s beautiful!

  3. I tried this about 5 years ago when it first hit the internet. While is 100% worked (shockingly so), it was a real burden to ring out heavy towels, sheets and such, and bring a laundry basket full of those wet things down to the washer/dryer in my basement – this was way to heavy and too much work for this 75-year-old. BUT I tried it again a month ago and this time (using the same recipe) I used my kitchen sink and did dish towels, guest towels, undies and socks. Voila!!! Same great results but this time WAY easier to manage.
