Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I love to decorate for this day of love with simple, elegant touches. After a full house overhaul at Christmas, I like to keep it simple and just sprinkle Valentine’s decor throughout the house. I use 3 simple ideas to give the house a festive feel for the kids without going over board. These tips are tips that you can use all year – for any holiday! Here is a little Valentine’s Day Home Tour using 3 holiday decor tips you can use for any holiday!
Give an old wreath some new life or jazz up a new one by tying on a mini garland. This coffee filter wreath, I made years ago, gets dolled up with a glittery amour garland. I just cut out some letters, glittered them, then glued them to some string and attached it to my wreath. Change up the word to fit the holiday you are celebrating! You can also hang an ornament in the center of a wreath for another easy, festive touch. Cupid’s angel wings are my favorite bling on this love wreath!
On the other side of the front door, I hung gold wreath with another mini garland.
Try cascading garland on your mirrors to add a splash of the season. Little hearts cut out of old books, then sewn together create a sweet Valentine’s Day touch. My friend made this so it’s extra special to me!
I love doing this at Christmas time too, only I use vintage tinsel or glittery garlands.

Look for ornaments or trinkets that you can hang from your chandelier to dress it up for the holiday. Get creative! One year I made arrows out of lollipop sticks and glitter paper, then hung some x’s and o’s in varied heights.
Try using these tips when decorating your house for the next holiday! Your home will feel festive with little effort. Win – win! Wishing your house a day filled with lots of love and even more CHOCOLATE!!!
