Christmas Place Setting Ideas for the Perfect Christmas Table

christmas-place-setting-ideas-collage

Next to opening gifts, Christmas dinner is the most anticipated part of Christmas day. As a little girl, I remember sitting around the dining room table, all decked out with my mom’s beautiful Christmas dishes to a delicious meal. The meal was more than delicious, it felt magical and memorable! The little touches my mom gave to the table made the meal feel so special. It made us want to linger longer around the table and share laughs and memories. To help make your Christmas dinner even more memorable I’m sharing 4 elegant and simple Christmas place setting ideas for the perfect Christmas table.

Not only am I sharing my place setting ideas, I’ve teamed up with 30 other ladies who love to entertain, to give you tons of Christmas entertaining ideas! Each day this week 6 of us will share our tips for holiday entertaining. You can find a full list of participants at the end of this post. Lory from Designthusiasm is our wonderful host. Welcome if you’ve come from Becky’s beautiful table at Buckets of Burlap!

If your home is neutral like mine, a tablescape with some color is a fun way to inject some color into your home, especially for the holidays. Plaid is a quintessential pattern at Christmastime, so why not use it on your table. These plaid plates are my favorite for Christmas this year!

Tips for this place setting…

  • Use these plaid plates for a fun Christmas pop!
  • Tie white ruffled napkins, with red velvet ribbon and a jingle bell.
  • Wrap gifts in coordinating paper for an easy centerpiece.
  • Toss large and small jingle bells around the table.

If you can’t have a white Christmas, make one! Mini, white flocked vintage Christmas trees are all the rage this year. You can find them all over the place. Gather up as many as you can find to create the most beautiful white Christmas table for your family and friends.

Tips for this place setting…

  • Mix white, bleached and glittered bottle brushed trees for a beautiful, white Christmas centerpiece.
  • Use all white dishes.
  • Add pops of gold to brighten up the table and add a little Christmas magic.
  • Sprinkle mini ornaments around each place setting.

Silver Bells is one of my favorite Christmas songs. It makes me think of all the magical sights and sounds of Christmas AND when I was a little girl I got to learn the most beautiful rendition of it for a piano recital. I never worked harder on a piano piece. So, I like to sprinkle this iconic Christmas symbol wherever I can in my home! I found these jingle bell napkin rings and knew they would be perfect for many Christmases to come.

Tips for this place setting…

  • Use jingle bells sparingly so they pop on your table.
  • Use silver flatware.
  • Add a large Christmas ornament to each place setting as a gift for your guests.
  • Try adding a wreath with ornaments around a hurricane candle holder for a stunning centerpiece.

Silver and gold. They go to together like Santa and his reindeer. Elegant and classy, silver and gold will always be in style. This is my personal favorite look at Christmastime.

Tips for this place setting…

  • Try using these plate crowns instead of chargers for a beautiful, elegant Christmas table.
  • Use silver flatware. Mixing silver and gold is the key to this table.
  • Gather silvery, mercury glass candle sticks for your centerpiece.
  • Weave a cedar pine garland through the candle sticks.
  • Tuck silver and gold ornaments into the garland.
