Fresh Ideas for Fall Home Tour – Elegant Fall Decor

Happy Fall everyone! Tomorrow officially marks the first day of this fabulous season! I find myself saying, “This is my favorite season,” every time we approach a new season. Maybe it is magical the way the world transforms right before our eyes! No matter where we live in the world or what our economic status may be, we each get to enjoy the beauty of mother nature! Capturing some of that “magic” and displaying it in our homes helps to celebrate each change of season a little more. Today I am celebrating Fall by sharing our home decorated with elegant Fall decor. Our home is part of a special home tour – Fresh ideas for Fall Home Tour, hosted by my dear friends Bree of Z Design at Home and Tamara from Citrine Living. If you’ve joined me from Tamara’s blog, welcome! Here you will find tips for living life in style!

Before we start the tour, I wanted to share a few tips I use when decorating our home each season…

  1. Pick a color scheme and carry it throughout your home. This will create a beautiful flow to your home. I chose soft shades of blue, gray, plum and burgundy for our home this year.
  2. Use fresh and faux florals and fruit to add color and interest to each room.
  3. Add texture! Drape fluffy throws on sofas, display florals in textured vases or add pillows with pattern. Try adding layers to your rooms to create interest and warmth!

Come on into to our Fall home {I’ve included a full source list at the end of the post}… The front porch sets the tone for the rest of the house. Soft shades were my inspiration for my Fall decor. Here in Arizona, the leaves don’t change like the rest of the world. We have more subtle Fall changes. I had a really hard time finding a wreath that was just right for what I had planned of tour house. Using the same process I used to create my fall wreath {HERE}, I created a wreath using soft fall colored hydrangeas.  You can make one for your house by following the steps there. You will need…

  • A grapevine wreath
  • Fall colored hydrangeas
  • Soft green  foliage
  • Wire clippers {to trim flower stems}

Blue and white ginger jars are not just for the summertime! Keep yours out for Fall! Simple add some fall colored hydrangeas and some fresh eucalyptus to transition these beauties for Fall. Nestle a few fresh and velvet pumpkins to add more layers and texture. If you find a pumpkin with a cute shape but no stem, add some eucalyptus to the top!

Here is a little nook I have never shown before! This gorgeous chest of drawers is from one of my favorite companies, Ave Home . They reproduce the most beautiful French and modern pieces. The details are exquisite, from the stunning Swedish finish to the intricate details on the drawers and legs – this piece has me transported back to France! The gold sunburst mirror is also one of my favorites! Soften any piece with luxurious velvet pumpkins! These fabulous gems are from my Thanksgiving table last year {HERE} They are designed and created by the most talented lady, Daria of Hot Skwash. You will see more on my Fall table later in the tour.

Our kitchen table got a little makeover with some new chairs. With 5 kiddos at our house, I searched high and low for a beautiful AND functional chair! I did not want to sacrifice form for function! Eloquence has these stunning LEATHER chairs that are not only beautiful, they are durable!!! These are pieces we will have in our home for a lifetime. I love their curved backs and the warm buttermilk leather color. You can learn more about them here and you can purchase them here.  I’m in love with these blue and white lidded jars! For texture, fill an urn with some hydrangeas and soften with a ruffle linen tablecloth.

Adding fresh fruit and faux florals {hydrangeas}, in the kitchen, make it feel cozy and reminiscent of the changing trees outside. Burning a yummy scented candle always is a must! Try taking a plain glass cylinder, filling it with some rock salt and top with a Fall scented candle.  Serve flavorful cheese and fresh figs with honey for a yummy and stunning Fall treat! Food can be one of your best decorating accessories! Never underestimate the power of a beautifully styled food!
Have you noticed the color theme throughout our home? I’ve simply added shades of blue,gray, plum and burgundy to each room to create a look of continuity. This is so easy to do! You can do this in your home! Achieve this by adding the same color to each room. Whether it be through flowers, or fabric! Notice how each space also incorporates some blue and white.  The mantel is dressed with blue and white vases filled with faux hydrangeas {here, here and here} and softened with fresh eucalyptus that will dry over time. Tucked into various spaces are gold votives for a soft, warm evening glow. These linen antelope pillows from Willa Skye layered with these metallic gray pillows add some texture and fun! Willa Skye’s pillows are fabulous because you just purchase the pillow cover! You can switch out your pillows every season and wash them with such ease! I also used some in my Fall bedroom makeover. See it here.   This textured gold vase is featured in our family room and on our kitchen island. It is only $20 and adds such a pop to both spaces!
These beyond gorgeous pumpkins were design by Hot Skwash! I was speechless when I opened the box! The velvety shades of gray, blue and cream and the feathers, lace and cashmere make these pumpkins the MOST LUXURIOUS pumpkins ever! I will be sharing ALL of the table details next week!
