I love bedding! Bedding packs such an incredible design punch! Not only is bedding essential for sleeping, it is essential to the design of any room. It creates the mood and feel for your bedroom. I love finding ways to use my bedding pieces in new ways to give our rooms a fresh look over and over. Quilts are one essential I love to use to create layers and interest to the beds in our home. They are not only for keeping warm at night! Today, I want to share 3 ways to style a quilt on your bed.
These tips can be used on any bed for any design style! I’m featuring a quilt in my teenage son’s bedroom, but these tips will work in a girl’s bedroom, baby’s room, guest room or of course in your bedroom.
3 Ways to Style a Quilt
For all 3 of these styles, I am using the same bedding so you can see how the beds look fresh and new simply by switching up the styling. All of my bedding is from The Company Store. Their pieces are soft, affordable and stylish. I love how their pieces can be mixed and matched and used as your essential pieces. Today, I am using a beautiful gray stitched quilt, gray and white duvet, matching gray and white sheet set, a fun tassel pillow and soft gray throw.
Style No. 1
This is probably my favorite way to style a quilt. Layer it at the end of your bed. Not only does fluffing it on the end of your bed make it easy to grab on a chilly night, it also makes the bed look so inviting and cozy! Here I used a duvet as the base of the bed then layered the quilt on top. You could also use a comforter, or another quilt as your base instead of a duvet.
Style No. 2
Get this second look by spreading your quilt on top of your bed over your top sheet. Fold both your top sheet and the quilt over, then finish with a duvet at the foot of the bed. I also like to layer a throw on top of the duvet for even more of a cozy look!
Style No. 3
To create a real clean and tailored look, spread your quilt over the whole bed like in look number 2. Only this time, tuck that edges under the mattress. I love using a plain, neutral fitted sheet to cover my box springs so they are hidden. Lay a fun throw about 3/4 of the way down for a little softness.
Try styling a quilt on one of your beds! Which look is your favorite?
Can you tell me about the rug in this room? 😍
Hi, I have it sourced for you under the tab – my home – room sources. xo
Would you please do a video of how you fold the quilts at the end of the bed? I tried to recreate your look this morning and it was a fail!!
Thank you!
