5 Kitchen Styling Tips for Creating a Fabulous Kitchen
Going back to our heart analogy, the kitchen is the heart of the home. Don’t make your heart work overtime! Use these tips to style this heart centered room with ease and function! One way to make styling more simple is to shop in one place. All of the pieces I am sharing today are from Wayfair. Not only do they have beautiful, affordable, quality pieces for your entire home, they ship free (with orders over $49). They are also having a huge August clearance sale where you can find thousands of deals for every inch of your home!
Use pieces that are beautiful and functional.
Don’t clutter your countertop with a bunch of pretty things that just sit there. No! They are dust collectors eating up valuable real-estate! Instead, look for pieces that are beautiful and functional!!! Here are a few examples of pieces I have on my countertop that are functional and beautiful…
Some of my favorite multipurpose, beautiful kitchen pieces…
- My marble petal trays are one of my very favorite multipurpose pieces! These girls have really gotten a workout in my kitchen! They do everything from serve cookies and cakes, to dress up a candle or floral arrangement. I love stacking them to give it a more ruffled effect. This also clears up storage space in cabinets!
- 5 gallon canisters to hold, sugar, rice and flour, large serving utensils and even hot coco or coffee mugs. I have had mine for 22 years! They are so durable and timeless! They also make fabulous punch bowls!
- Cake stands and truffle bowls also make amazing places to store not only goodies but fresh fruits!
- Marble cutting boards look stunning leaning up on kitchen backsplashes! Use them as decor and for the obvious purposes like cutting and chopping. I like to use mine for platters and candle holders too.
- Look for appliances that look nice sitting on your countertop. Our Smeg toaster looks more like an accessory than an appliance!
- Set out a stack of pretty dishes as a kitchen accessory especially if you are expecting guests. These ruffle plates always look beautiful sitting on the counter, anytime time of year! I love this gold rimmed platter to serve my favorite chocolate chip cookies. Use a large tray to hold vases to create a vignette. When you need a tray to serve grab this one off your countertop.
- Use dishtowels that look nice and do the job of drying! I love this pink striped tassel towel.
Think big!
Use larger and fewer accessories! The bigger the better! Small pieces make your kitchen look off scale and cluttered. Large pieces elevate the look of your kitchen and keep it looking clean and tidy.
I like to use large ginger jars to hold flowers as a pop for my countertops. These pink marbled ginger jars filled with faux white peonies make a statement without making the counter look cluttered. Then on my island I have these large and small basketweave vases on a gold tray with pink peonies for a wow vignette.
Less is more.
Try to keep what you put on your countertop at a minimum. This will keep your kitchen looking it’s best!
Use food as an accessory
It’s a kitchen! There’s food, lots of food! So style that pretty food and use it to make your kitchen more beautiful! I love to use fruit that is in season displayed on cake stands. Find gorgeous bowls to hold fruit, like this gold rimmed bowl. This truffle dish is perfect for holding berries and other small fruit.
This gold rimmed platter is my favorite for serving our family’s favorite homemade chocolate chip cookies!
Always have flowers on your countertop
Fresh flowers are the best! If you can find any or don’t want to keep purchasing them, use faux! You know I love a good faux floral! Flowers just breath life into your kitchen. Be creative with what you style them in. I love to use ginger jars, fun vases and mini bud vases and sprinkle them around my kitchen.
Head over the Wayfair and grab some pieces (thousands of items are on sale right now) to style your kitchen! Then use these tips to keep your kitchen looking fabulous!

I love your style , I have a fabulous kitchen but I have cream cabinets ,I want a soft marble Look, what would go with my cream cabinets? Did you use marble or quartz? Could I use a white marble look with cream cabinets? Thank you Diana
My mom has cream cabinets and she has marble. It looks gorgeous together. I love the warmth marble brings to a home. Quartz feels to sterile to me. It’s really a personal choice. xoxo
Such a fabulous kitchen!! I could look at it all day! ha ha On your island, there is a tray/dish holding soap and/or lotion. Can you tell me where to find it or something like it? Thanks!
Oh thank you Casey! The soap dish I bought years ago and is no longer available. I am so sorry! I will try to find something similar.
Great kitchen ideas! I have a darker kitchen so the white won’t work vases won’t work. Where did the gold round? Tray come from with the white ginger jars?
I had a dark kitchen and the white looks absolutely stunning against the dark cabinetry. It provides a beautiful contrast! The tray is sourced for you in the post. It is from Wayfair. xo

Everything is so beautiful! I love white kitchens but we recently moved into a house with a gray and black kitchen. Any tips for a sleek polished look in a dark space?
