A Fresh Take on Fall Kitchen Decorating
The kitchen is one of my favorite spaces to sprinkle with a little seasonal charm, especially when fall rolls around. This year, I wanted it to feel warm and welcoming while still staying true to the soft blues, creamy whites and touches of gold I love year-round.
Rather than filling the space with traditional fall colors, I used florals, natural textures and a few cozy details to give the kitchen a subtle nod to the season.

Fall Decor on the Kitchen Island
The island is the heart of our kitchen, so I wanted the centerpiece to make a statement while still feeling light and airy. I gathered several of my favorite blue and white ginger jars and filled them with wispy hydrangea branches (I used 6 in my arrangment) covered in the prettiest soft blue blooms. Mixing different shapes and sizes of jars gives the arrangement that collected-over-time feeling I love.
A woven rattan tray filled with blue Wedgewood dishes and a ruffled brown gingham napkins adds a little warmth and texture. A few glowing candles are the finishing touch and make the kitchen feel especially cozy in the evenings. The largest one in the most beautiful gold stand is such a lovely focal point! Fall Decor on the Fridge
I love finding unexpected places to add seasonal details, and our mirrored refrigerator doors are one of my favorites. These fun sunflower wreaths bring in just enough fall color. The soft monogrammed blue wreath sashes tie them back to the rest of the kitchen and keep the look feeling elegant and cohesive. Mine are hung with a command hook, you can use them on your doors, cabinets, windows and walls.
Fall Decor Around the Sink
I kept the sink area a little simpler since this is one of the hardest-working spots in our kitchen. The large floral arrangement on the island carries plenty of color into this area, so just a few pretty everyday pieces, a vanilla candle in a cane hurricane on a crystal base and some yummy smelling fall soaps and a pretty green striped dish towel are enough. It feels styled but still leaves plenty of room for real life.
Fall Decor by the Range
The countertops around the range are another easy spot to bring in seasonal color. Styling the Plate Shelves for Fall
My plate shelves are one of my favorite little spots to change with the seasons. I layered blue and white plates in different patterns and sizes, then tucked magnolia branches and a few of the sunflowers around them.
Repeating the florals from the range and the blue and white used throughout the kitchen helps everything flow together. It’s a simple reminder that seasonal decorating doesn’t have to mean changing everything—sometimes a few thoughtfully placed stems are all it takes to make your favorite pieces feel brand new for fall.
