A Simple Fall Table with Soft Autumn Layers

A Simple Fall Table with Soft Autumn Layers

There’s something I love about a fall table that feels special without feeling overly styled. For this year’s table, I kept things soft and simple, mixing warm autumn tones with the blues, creams and natural textures I already love using throughout our home. Use this for any fall gathering you have, it would be lovely for Thanksgiving as well!

A Lush, Simple Fall Centerpiece

The centerpiece is really the star of the table. I filled an oversized blue and white bowl with creamy velvet pumpkins, magnolia branches, magnolia flowers, soft blue flowers and a mix of ivory and burnt-orange dahlia blooms. The touches of rust and warm brown give it that unmistakable fall feeling, while the blue and white keeps everything fresh and true to our home.

I love letting branches and flowers spill naturally over the sides of a vessel. It makes an arrangement feel abundant and collected rather than too perfect.

I carried the look up to the chandelier by hanging vines and florals wrapped around the chandelier. It feels so whimsical and magical!

Layering the Place Settings

For each place setting, I layered rattan chargers with soft blue dishes and brown gingham linens. The ruffled placemats and napkins add such a pretty, feminine detail, while the cane napkin rings and cane chargers bring in the warmth that makes a table feel like fall.

Green glassware and bamboo-inspired flatware add just a little more color and texture without competing with the centerpiece.

The Prettiest Little Glow

One of my favorite details is the petite table lamps (look for less) scattered down the table. Their tiny patterned shades (look for less) bring in another touch of blue, and when they’re glowing in the evening, they make the entire table feel extra cozy and intimate. It’s such an easy way to make even a simple dinner at home feel special.

A Welcoming Fall Touch

I also added magnolia wreaths (look for less) to the doors leading into the room, finished with soft ivory monogrammed bows. It’s a small detail, but I love how it carries the colors and textures of the table into the rest of the space and makes the room feel welcoming before you even sit down.

You don’t need an elaborate tablescape to make your home feel beautiful for fall. Start with pieces you already love, add a few seasonal flowers or pumpkins, layer in warm texture, and let the season inspire the rest. Sometimes the simplest tables are the ones that invite everyone to sit down, stay awhile and enjoy being together.
