Visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. This charming phrase from the cherished Nutcracker Ballet, sums up my wishes to create the perfect place for Christmas visions to take place. As a child Christmas is magical. The world is filled with yummy smells, twinkle lights and anticipation for treats and treasures. As we grow older, that magic can still be captured. Decorating your bedroom with the beauties of the season is a sure way to keep those visions of sugar plums dancing in your head! Create an elegant Christmas bedroom to help you bottle up some of that childhood excitement!
Put a Christmas tree in your room! A few years ago I started to do this. I found myself laying in bed at night with just the tree lights on, dreaming and scheming of Christmas magic. Waking up to the soft glow of twinkling lights, made me happier and more excited to start the day.
To create an elegant Christmas bedroom, I partnered with one of my all time favorite companies, Frontgate. A few years ago, I purchased a flocked tree, from Frontgate, for my family room. I was completely blown away by the quality of the tree. Not only was it beautiful, it was incredibly simple to set up and store. The tree didn’t shed hardly any flock and the branches needed very minimal fluffing.
I have had a number of other trees and their tree was by far my favorite – I knew I wanted one for my bedroom! So today I am so excited to share how I styled my Frontgate tree in my bedroom to create an elegant Christmas bedroom filled with visions of sugar plums!
Elegant Christmas Bedroom
My tree is the Flocked Stafford Pine 9ft. full profile tree. To say I love it would be a major understatement! The winter dreams ornament set was my inspiration for the tree and room. See all of the icy, magical ornaments that give this tree an elegant winter glow? They also blended in with many of the ornaments I already had to create a lovely accent for my tree. I also used my favorite fur ribbon wrapped in the center of the tree to create a more full, snowy look. I use 6 rolls on my tree.
A full list of what’s on my tree is included at the end of my post.

Another way to add some Christmas magic to your bedroom is to decorate your bed. Hang some garland at the head and foot of your bed. This garland is so full and fluffy, I didn’t even have to use hooks to attach it! Just push it in between your footboard and mattress. For the headboard, shove it behind your headboard. If you are worried about it coming loose, you could certainly use hooks to keep it place.
This flocked garland is battery operated and has a timer. When I crawl into bed at night, the lights are just about to go off. It is such a wintery wonderland!
Finish the look off by dangling a few ornaments secured with wire or hooks. I used the same ornaments I have on my tree to connect the two spaces. Velvet jeweled ribbon bows are tied to each end for an added touch of whimsy.
Luxurious bedding will also insure a night of sweet Christmas dreams. Here is what I have on my bed…
