Parade of Christmas Trees 2016 – Featuring Balsam Hill

bh-collage

You’ve all heard of the fabulous home tour called The Parade of Homes? Well today, a few friends {Jen from Decor Gold Designs, Tamara from Citrine Living and Kelley from Kelley Nan}, and I are excited to present you with a twist on that fun tradition. We are inviting you along on our Parade of Christmas Trees!

Each of us styled 2 of the exact same trees. The only difference in the tree is the lighting. One is LED the other is not.

First let me tell you that I learned to love decorating from my mom. She always made our home feel special and magical especially during the holidays. It was such a special treat to have her at my home to help me decorate these trees. It is a memory I will treasure forever! To me this is what this season is all about – making memories with those we love!

I’ve never had a tree in my bedroom, so I placed one in there. If you’ve never had a tree in your bedroom, I highly recommend trying it! I have loved laying in bed starring at the sparkling lights. Lights carry a magic that brightens this season. Waking up each morning is a lot happier too!

Take a look at my first ever bedroom Christmas tree…

My bedroom decor features fur, mercury glass, a little bling and lots of layers. I wanted my tree to feel the same way. The fur Christmas garland ties in the fur rug, pillows and throws in my bedroom. Mercury glass ornaments in shades of champagne, silver and a snow kissed flocked marry the candle sticks in my room. The gorgeous champagne, Victorian ribbon looks stunning with my velvety taupe bedding and crystal snowflake ornaments mimic the look of our crystal table lamps.

I have never had a tree that wasn’t flocked. EVER. I love the white, snowy feel of flocked trees, but let me tell you… this unflocked, green tree is stunning! There is no mess and it looks so real! I don’t know why I have never tried one before!

The coolest thing about this tree – it comes with a remote control that switches the lights from clear, to color or both with the click of a button! Like I said earlier, you can lay in bed and stare at the lights, then click them off without having to get up! My kid’s and I love the clear lights, but it is so fun to have the option to use the colored ones too!

The LED is nice because it is energy-efficient and when a bulb burns out or breaks just that bulb goes out – not the whole strand!

  • Ornaments: French Country Ornament Sets {foil, crackle and ombre}
  • Ribbon: Victorian Cutout Champagne  – I backed my ribbon with a 3 inch cream ribbon so the Victorian ribbon really popped on the tree. I wish I could make a dress out of the ribbon! It is so breathtakingly beautiful. It is the star of the tree! Try cutting 12 inch strips and tucking them into the tree, rather than using large strands. It is much more manageable this way.

This tree is velvety and luxurious. I don’t get much work done in here because I catch myself daydreaming staring at it. Oops!

Tree Details

Tree: Vermont White Spruce Narrow  {Clear + Color with easy plug}

Ornaments: White and silver snow  – These gorgeous white and clear ornaments illuminate with the lights on. Magical! Adding white to the gold and gray tree made such a dramatic statement!

Ribbon: Gray Velvet  – Nestling this luxurious ribbon around really makes the gold stand out on this tree.

Picks: Mini Magnolia Picks | Crystal Gems Stem

Try grouping picks with tufts of ribbon to add focal points around your tree. This gives picks more weight and emphasis on your tree.

Nestling this luxurious ribbon around really makes the gold stand out on this tree.
