I think I may have been born during the wrong era! I often find myself dreaming of days gone by when people spent hours sitting on their porches chatting with their friends and neighbors. A slower, more simple time.
While we’re dreaming, I have always pictured myself as a southern belle and everything that comes with it. A wrap around porch, southern drawl and the charm of an aged home.
The reality is that I’m a west coast girl with a southern heart! While the majority of west coasters tend to be more laid back in their attire and decor, I have always loved to be a little fancy. That is apparent from the moment you see my front porch.
I’ve shared almost every nook and cranny of our Christmas house this year, today I’m excited to share with you our silver and gold Christmas front porch as part of Balsam Hill’s Count Down to Christmas! This porch transports me from my home in the desert to someplace more like in my dreams.
The outside gives a hint of what’s inside… lots of elegant silver and gold!
The star of the porch is this silver and gold wreath! My sweet mom tied a fancy bow to give it that special elegant touch I love.
Mini potted Christmas trees flank the archway leading to the front door. They are trimmed with large and small silver and gold ornaments and topped with another fancy bow.
Red poinsettias would stick out like a sore thumb on my neutral porch, so I used white ones instead. Grouping a few together really makes a statement!
Now step inside, I want to show you one more space. This is one of my favorite spots in my house, our courtyard…
All the twinkling lights make the courtyard feel so magical and yes fancy!
