How to Add Color to a Neutral Bedroom

A blank, white canvas is an artists dream! The creative possibilities are endless! The same is true when designing a space for your home. I love to start with a neutral backdrop to any room because it allows me to add color and pattern with ease!

A few weeks ago I shared our master bedroom styled with all white linens for winter. Our guest bedroom had a similar neutral color scheme for winter. Both spaces are getting a dose of color for spring! Switching out your linens with each changing season is one of my favorite ways to welcome a new season into our home. Build on your bedding essentials to create beautiful, refreshed looks all year long.

Today I’ll show you how simple it is to add a little color to your bedroom while building a beautiful linen collection that will last you for years. I’m so excited to share some of my favorite pieces from the luxury brand Sferra found at Bloomingdale’s. Bloomingdale’s has a gorgeous selection of luxurious pieces you can purchase to help start curating a stunning linen collection for your bedroom.

How to Add Color to a Neutral Bedroom

Adding color to a neutral space is so simple! Start with white bedding essentials then follow these simple tips for a pop of color. Our guest bed has this gorgeous white coverlet as a gorgeous neutral base.

Tip No. 1

Choose a color combination.

For our guest bedroom, I chose blush pink and navy blue. Pink and blue can be used by themselves, with white, or with a bunch of other colors. Making them a great color combination.

To introduce this color scheme into our neutral bedroom, I used this soft and luxurious navy hotel Sferra bedding. Hotel bedding gives any bedroom a look of luxury! It’s a timeless look that can be incorporated into any design style. Here is used the hotel duvet and two standard shams. These linens are so soft! They add a touch of color without overtaking the room.

If I can find a way to squeeze blush into a room, I will do it! Pink ombre velvet euros were the perfect accent color in this space. The color reminds me of soft cherry blossoms blooming in the springtime!

Here are a few more pieces from the hotel collection you may like for your home…

Tip No. 2

Sprinkle color into your room with flowers and accessories.

Using accessories with some color is such a simple way to incorporate color into a room without having to make a huge commitment! Switching out a vase is much more simple and budget friendly than replacing a piece of furniture!

Here I used blush and white vases and jars filled with my favorite faux florals.

Try adding some white bedding to your bedrooms as a base, then add some pops of color for spring!

  1. Hey there, Randi.
Greetings from snowy and frozen Virginia.
It all looks gorgeous. Your signature touch is always dripping with all things beautiful. I surely needed your post today with all of the blush accessories. I can seriously crush on some blush. 🙂 Cannot wait till Spring arrives. I am not a snow bunny at all. I thrive better when the weather is warm and you can wear a frilly flowing dress with some sweet sandals and cute pink toenail polish. Counting down the days.
    ((Hugs)) Deb 🙂 🙂

    1. Hey Deb! Thank you for your sweet comment! I am no snow bunny either! Haha! I love the warm weather and am already dreaming of warmer days ahead! xo
