A few weeks ago, I shared essentials for creating a luxurious summer bed. Today, I am sharing how to cozy up any bedroom with a comforter. Comforters are a bedding essential for any bed in your home. They are essentials because they do exactly what their name says – they provide comfort!
Growing up, my mom always had homemade quilts or coverlets on our beds. It wasn’t until my husband, Matt, brought me home to meet his family for the first time- that I knew what a comforter was! My sweet mother in law Sandi had my bed made with a comforter over the whole bed and a down comforter at the base of the bed. I remember diving into bed that cold winter night into the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in! It was like I was sleeping in a hug! The next morning I asked Matt what was the fluffy thing at the end of my bed. He looked at me with a smirk on his face and told me it was a feather blanket. Ha ha!
When we married a few months later, I made sure our bed had a “feather blanket” on it! Every bed in our home since then has included a “feather blanket” or comforter. I want all my guests and family to feel that warm comforting embrace a comforter provides.
Here is a look into our littlest boys’ bedroom. I’m sharing all the pieces their beds and showing how I incorporated comforters on their beds.

How to Cozy up any Bedroom with a Comforter
Gray Geometric Sheets | Denim Comforter | Gray Geometric Duvet Cover | Blue Tassel Pillow | Medallion Tassel Pillow | Down Alternative Comforter | Down Pillow Insert | Twin Pillow
All of these pieces for my boy’s beds are from The Company Store. Their bedding is so comfortable and affordable! Now is a great time to stock up on comforters for your beds because they are having their Semi – Annual Comforter Sale! They have tons of comforter styles – down, down alternative, solid comforters and patterned comforters!
For my boy’s bed I used a denim comforter that reverses to a gray. This covers the whole bed creating a soft and cozy base for them. For added comfort, I added a luxurious down alternative comforter at the base of the bed. It is tucked inside this gray geometric duvet cover that matches the gray geometric sheets. They love it!
To finish off the look, I added these blue tassel and medallion throw pillows on the bed.
Use comforters in any room in your home! I have them in my older boys bedroom’s and guest bedroom too!
