Luxe Christmas Family Room

This year, with my son’s wedding (in December the reception will be at our home), Christmas feels a little more magical. I used lots of soft aquas, white and gold to give our family room a Luxe Christmas feeling. The colors feel soothing and luxurious. I hope you enjoy this first space at The Wren styled for Christmas! I’ll be sharing more spaces each day.

Our tree is the Freshly Fallen Snow tree (our’s is the 10ft version, they carried a few years ago – they have 9ft and 7.5ft). It is so easy to put up and store! We keep our’s in this Christmas tree bag. I used fur ribbon first, tucked into the center of the tree to give it a freshly fallen snow feel. Use 6 rolls to get the look.

Next, add the picks. I used these luxe magnolia flowers, white berry stems and white magnolia stems on this tree. About 16 of each.

Then start hanging your ornaments. I start with my largest ornaments first, they medium and small. Tuck the larger ones a little further into the tree, and keep the medium and small towards the outer branches. Use these ornaments hooks! They are the best.

Finish with your ribbon. This year, I added large bows tied out of this Tinsel Trellis ribbon. I also added some tufts of this stunning All is Bright Beaded Ribbon. The star on top is a few years old, but I love this star.

Under the tree luxe wrapped packages complete the look. All of the boxes are empty! I slip the ribbon off and add my gifts and tags as I shop. These white and gold boxes are fabulous. Use a variety of ribbon with a few Christmas picks and ornaments to dress them up.

Candles, garland and more! These luxe accessories add layers of luxury to your family room.

Candles

Garland – My garland is 2 6ft flocked garlands tied together. I added coordinating ornaments from my tree with ornament hooks. I trimmed a few of the beaded magnolia stems and added a few of the white magnolia to complete the look. Use Command hooks to hold the garland.

Coffee Table – My tray is no longer available, but I love this tray | Marble Box | Star | Book

Mantel – White ginger jar with gold base | Selenite Statue

Throw pillows really soften a room and add personality. These metallic aqua throw pillows are absolutely exquisite! I used them in my fall decor. Use them year round. Mine are all 22″ with a 24″ insert. These are my favorite pillow inserts (pillow shams sourced below).

I used inexpensive flocked wreaths on my french doors. They are dressed up with some coordinating ornaments attached with ornament hooks. Clip a few of the white berries I used on my tree and tuck them into the wreath for another gorgeous layer. Add a bow that ties in with your other decor for a finishing touch. Hang the wreath with a Command Hook.

  1. Your Christmas family room decorations are absolutely elegant, and the color combinations couldn’t be more beautiful. I will definitely try to emulate your design in my own home (although I still can’t seem to master the tree ribbon skill… sigh). What a beautiful setting for your son’s wedding reception. I’m looking forward to your next Christmas post.
